Trojan (Mišel Matičević), a loner who has just been released from prison, is already planning his next coup. While preparing to rob an armored car with an old friend, a former accomplice sets two hitmen on his tail. The taciturn professional criminal also has to fend off a corrupt civilian policeman (Uwe Bohm). A suspenseful crime film, a neo-film noir – this is the first time Arslan made veritable genre cinema. He concentrated very specifically on the gangsters' everyday lives, their trade, the gestures of their work, without burdening the characters with personal stories. Trojan's movement through the city paints a picture of Berlin: neon signs in Friedrichstrasse, Excelsior House, Kottbusser Tor, Olivaer Platz, the main train station, car parks, multi-story car parks, depots and hotel rooms. (bik)
